Starseed of the Midnight Lake - Buran Story

Starseed of the Midnight Lake

March 16, 2026

Far beyond the tallest hills and deepest forests lay the Midnight Lake, a place where the water was so still it reflected the sky perfectly — as if the stars had another world beneath the surface.

Every night, the lake sparkled softly.

People believed it was just moonlight…
But the truth was far more magical.

Because in that lake lived a Sarseed, a tiny glowing spirit born from stardust.

Her name was Miri.

Miri was no bigger than a pebble, yet she held the brightness of a star.
Her job was to keep the lake glowing so travelers wouldn’t lose their way in the dark.

But one night, something went wrong.

The Faded Glow

A cold wind swept across the sky, dimming Miri’s light until she flickered like a candle in the rain.

“If my light goes out,” she whispered,
“the lake will fall into darkness… and the stars will lose their reflection.”

She tried to glow, tried to shine —
but the light inside her was fading.

Fear crept in.

That’s when she heard footsteps.

The Traveler

A young traveler named Arun had arrived at the lake, carrying only a small wooden flute and a satchel of simple food.

He saw Miri struggling, her tiny glow trembling.

He knelt beside the water and gently cupped his hands.

“Are you hurt?” he asked softly.

Miri blinked in surprise.
“Humans can’t see me…”

“I don’t know how I can,” Arun replied,
“but I want to help.”

He placed his flute to his lips and played a warm, gentle tune —
a melody filled with kindness and calm.

As the music drifted across the lake, the light inside Miri started to warm again.
Small sparks danced along the water’s surface.

“You’re giving me light…” Miri gasped.

“No,” Arun smiled,
“I’m helping you find the light you already have.”

The Return of the Glow

Miri rose above the lake, glowing brighter and brighter until a shimmering beam shot into the sky.

The stars above flickered warmly in response —
as if greeting a friend they thought they had lost.

The entire lake burst into shimmering silver light,
illuminating the night with a glow more beautiful than anything the land had seen before.

A Promise That Shines

Miri floated down to Arun’s shoulder.

“You helped me when I could barely shine,” she said softly.
“When you feel lost, look at the stars.
I will guide you, just as you guided me.”

Arun nodded.

He continued his travels, but from that night on, the stars above him always sparkled a little brighter —
because one tiny star spirit was watching, always ready to light his path.

Moral of the Story

Even the smallest light can shine brightest when someone believes in it.
